Logo Submission Update

I know I said I would wait until after the deadline to post these (on BlogCatalog), but I'm afraid I might lose the URL references if I don't keep track of them this way. These are the submissions so far. Feel free to comment on them. The deadline for submissions is July 31st. The simple rules are posted in My New Logo Contest. I'll start the process of picking the best one on August 1st. I may or may not post more submissions before the deadline. It all depends on how many I get.

Two submissions by Hari from Hari's Corner:

Logo-1 Submission by V. Harishankar (Hari)

Logo-2 Submission by V. Harishankar (Hari)

Three submissions by "GoneFishing" at Gone Fishing's Journal:

Logo-1 Submission by GoneFishing

Logo-2 Submission by GoneFishing

Logo-3 Submission by GoneFishing

A submission by The Irreverent Buddhist – This one is designed to replace the left image as well as the center text:

I really like the second one by Hari, but all are great.

I like the third one by GoneFishing…

    1ST ONE FROM GONE FISHIN'

  4. blogcabins says:

Agreed with Janet – the third from GoneFishing is the definite winner. It's clean, simple, readable, looks professional and has text that is "not twisted" (read: sans sarif).

  5. Jo says:

Third one from Gone Fishing definately.

Looks like I cannot compete with the photoshoppers. Those other logos look great.

They're all really good. But if I had to pick one ( for what it's worth ) I like the third one from Gone Fishing too.

Looks like you've gone some pretty decent responses RT.

Hey Hari, I like yours a lot! Especially the top one.

These are all brilliant, though. How are you ever going to pick one, RT? I don't think I could choose just one..

@SmartWealthyRich .. your logo says Untwisted .. but its so twisty. Good work anyway!

  11. smartwealthyrich's is fantastic. Really makes a mark. Its urban and contemporary.

Hari's second one too. Losing the solid blue line makes the design far more coherent and the wavy lines mirror and make sense of the wavy text.

The third gone fishing one – to me it's very 60's and the latest sixties re-re-re-revival is dead. I don't see why people like it. The second one ditto but 70's.

The first gone fishing one. That's great. Same quality of contemporary urban that smartwealthyrich's has. I'd darken or lighten the tone on the shadows if you go for it to make the foreground name stand a little more prominently though.

Mine I'm not going to comment on … except to say I'm no designer and knocked it up in 20 minutes or so on Photoshop. So if the peeps up there who said they all looked professional were including mine in that then tyvm :) lol

Check out my submissions too, please, the Irreverant Buddhist. The links are in the comments prior to this one

      • Abhinav ..

        "simple" I don't like :(

"plainer" is better. I'd suggest trying it without the green shading on the main writing and lose/lessen the big grey shadow on the tagline. Also I'm not sure how close your colours are to the existing ones. They might actually clash. The green looks a bit lime. I'd suggest taking a snapshot of the screen of this webpage header. Try pasting your logo's in and seeing how they look. Using a colour picker find The pantones or rgb values of the colours in the existing title and work from their in fine tuning the colour scheme.

ps Im not a designer but I am a former publisher and international marketeer. I've been involved in print, logo, corporate design on and off for a number of years in one capacity or another :)

  12. Hi Irreverent Buddhist! :) Thanx for your comment, I'm happy you like my logo! I was messing with Fireworks and saw RT was looking for a new logo, so I came up whit that one kinda "on the spot" :)

  13. Also a great improvemnet is actually using RT's words in the later versions. just noticed that screw up in the first one DOH !! {{{bangs hairless head on wall}}}

Oh well sort that tomorrow lol

    thanks

  15. At this point, I'm feeling kind of partial to two of them and I don't want to say anything more about it.

  16. Chris says:

Whilst the 3rd from Gone Fishing is excellent, I don't think it would suit the existing blog colour scheme, so I'd vote for Hari's second, if you were asking for votes, which you're not….. :???:

    • Glad to see you back from your vacation. No, I decided voting wasn't a good idea. I like two of them (and I won't say which), although one of them would have to be slightly tweaked.

All of them have their own good qualities and it's a shame that I can only use one in the end.

  17. if the one that would have to be tweaked happened to be mine it has been in the jpg version :D
