The Digital Nomad at Digital Nomads began a series of articles for software replacements of Microsoft applications. It started with The Interwebs Search for Ultimate Microsoft Replacements, followed by Ultimate Microsoft Replacements – Series Number One and Ultimate Microsoft Replacements – Series Number Two. He wrote about "Deskview" and "CCleaner", so there's definitely going to be many more articles in the series.
Terri at Terry Terry Quite Contrary threw a "tantrum" and let her feelings be known. I wish more blog authors could be this open about how they feel on a bad day. It's what separates us from the rest of the animals on the Earth.

Mr. Gary Lee, in response to email queries, posted a picture of him holding an American Express Gold Card for all to see and then wrote about why he had to do that. The card was mentioned in his contest where he's Giving Away a Free iPhone. Some people don't believe anything until they see it.
Homemom3 posted her review of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" with a spoiler alert at I'm not just a mom…I'm a Home Mom. I'm not a Harry Potter fan but I've seen all of the previous movies because of family members. I'm in no hurry to see this one, but I'll be damned if I'm going to read the review before watching it and spoil it for myself. You can read it, if you wish, but you do so at your own risk.
Deborah posted a heartwarming story about a miracle of life at Life in the Fast Lane. A man was cut in half in a trucking accident and lived to talk about it. He's now learning to walk again on bionic legs.
K-IntheHouse wrote about an alternative to Google Reader at ShanKri-la. He appears to like "Fast ladder" enough to write about it, but not enough to switch from "GreatNews", a portable feed reader. I'm tiring of Google Reader quickly, even though it saved my bacon more than once when a day's worth of articles disappeared due to a server problem. I don't know what I'll switch to, but Google Reader is too cumbersome and lacks a lot of features. Managing as many feeds as I read now is next to impossible.
The AnitoKid gave "Da Daily Donky Award" to the Philippine Department of Education and Undersecretary Franklin Suga at The Anitokid Chronikos. It amazes me how completely and utterly stupid the people in charge of educating the young minds in the Philippines really are. Textbooks with not just a couple of errors, but enough to warrant a full page article in the country's most popular newspaper, are glaring examples of the misuse of government funds through ignorance.

But, my portable GreatNews has some killer features I can't live without because it helps my blogging. I will soon be reviewing it as well.
Just a couple that has me hooked: labelling articles & keeping them around for reference; and news watch feature – you specify a term and you get a set of articles that has the term in it. Very useful if you are following for e.g. 'rss readers'.

If you've read the books, you don't really have to worry about reading the spoilers, since you know all if not more about the story than what's shown in the movie
