I've been trying to maintain a schedule for articles to be posted at specific times. The Philippines Utility Department is not cooperating in my endeavor. I wanted to be finished with this one more than 30 minutes ago, but it's kind of hard to finish anything when the power is off more than on. We haven't even had a storm this year yet. I wonder how bad PUD will suck when we do. I'll stop rambling now and let you get on with today's…

Blog Drive-Bys

I don't know what he was doing there, but Hermie of One Day at a Time spent some time in Tlaquepaque, Mexico and took a bunch of photos. I mean, a LOT of photos. Check out his article.

Erika posted her thoughts about creek walking in her "Friday Flashback" at Erika Jean. Her memories of a deer head hanging from a tree — now that I could have done without. We all have at least one or two fond memories of our teen or childhood years. It's just too bad I can't remember any of my own right now.

Ray over at Place of Stuff spends a lot of time testing Linux distributions and writing about them. An obvious Linux geek (and I mean that in a good way), he just recently installed the new Slackware 12.

It's not supposed to be amusing, but Jim at I'm fortywhat!? did a good job of convicting himself for not keeping his blog up-to-date. He's not the only one (and I'm not talking about myself). There's another blog that I frequently visit that's rapidly approaching four weeks without an update. I won't mention the name of the blog, however, because I think personal issues are involved.

Vic Grace at Cariboo Ponderer reflected on one of her blah days and ended the post with counting her blessings. We all have boring days (me included) and days where something that we don't like is nagging at our thoughts. The solution, I have found, is to turn your mind 180 degrees and do things you normally wouldn't do to break up the daily routine. The change, even temporary, can be invigorating.

I always enjoy reading a person's opinion that mirrors my own. The slam that Michael Moore received at Little Money is more than I could possibly think to write in one sitting. What a joke that guy is — and people actually believe him.

An attorney with a sense of humor that's more pronounced than mine will ever be, the Curmudgeon at Second Effort wrote about a branch bank robbery by a guy dressed as a tree. You really have to read it for yourself to see the humor in it.

Mist 1 wrote a story over at To Do: 1. Get Hobby 2. Floss about an Independence Day celebration (if you can call it that) and the time spent at a relative's home. The lady's name is Trish and I swear she belongs on the Jerry Springer show. Sheets for curtains and a shotgun ready to go at all times? And a dirt lawn? Give me a break!

Hari did his review of Opera 9.21 at Hari's Corner and is now using it as his primary browser. Hari asked me (via email) if I'd checked out Hari's Reviews, another site he started, and I can now honestly say that I have (I didn't remember doing it before, but it was in my feed reader, so I must have).

It seems a lot of blogs are posting their ratings like I did in my My Blog is Rated 'G' post. Diane at The Trouble With Angels wasn't so lucky. She got an 'R'. It has something to do with "Dead Bastards". Oops! There goes my 'G' rating!

Update: I didn't mean to leave Mist 1's link out. See what happens when you get behind?
