Today, the US celebrates Independence Day. On July 4, 1776, the US declared its independence from England. The United States Constitution, completed in 1789, is the oldest constitution known to still be in effect in the entire world.
The local Filipinos celebrate an unofficial Filipino-American Friendship Day while the US celebrates its Independence Day.
Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day celebration and remember the sacrifices that were made more than 200 years ago so that you can enjoy the standard of living you're now accustomed to.
