A Minor, Personal Update

As you may already know from reading, I've been pretty much laid up in bed since the 10th of June. Judging from how my lower left leg looks and feels today, I may be back on my feet in as little as two days.

While I've been a bit incapacitated by the associated pain, I've tried to maintain some semblance of an online life. It's very difficult to sit up for more than 5 minutes because the leg has to remain elevated. After 5 minutes, it feels like I've been standing on it. If I didn't have a laptop, I wouldn't even be writing now. It's sitting on a chair next to the bed. I type a little, stop, type some more… you get the picture.

Because of how long it takes to write a simple post like this, I'm not doing much of it right now. That will all change very soon… as soon as the leg returns to the normal size. You'll probably see my longest drive-bys post ever. I'm starting on it this evening. It could be 12 blogs or it could be 50. I won't stop until I'm up and ready to post it.

While I've been "resting", I've had the time to watch a few movies. I think most of them came out on DVD in 2007, but I'm not reading the labels to find out. I will probably write about the better ones in a few days.

Most of my time has been occupied by reading. Not just blogs and my feeds, but a lot of websites I normally don't have time for. Well, things will definitely change for the better very soon.

  1. RT Take care of yourself so you can go on with your life. It's awful to be that sick. I once had viral meningitis and was incapacitated for nearly 3 months. Being laid up get's old after a while.

Thanks, Scott, that's what I'm trying to do. If it weren't for my relatives being close at hand, I don't know how I could have lasted. One sister-in-law has been cooking for me while my mother-in-law has been checking in on me twice a day.

If I had to walk on this leg to fend for myself, it would take months to heal.

Hope you're back on your feet soon, fella. Must be tough for you at the moment. I broke a couple of toes a few years back and couldn't move around for 2-3 days and I know how frustrated I was so I can only imagine how you must be feeling.

Awww.. Robert, I am sorry you are bed ridden. I didn't know. I tried to send you a Meme-tag but some guy named Scott answered. Confused me for a sec. :) You don't have to do it… Just wanted to give you some link.. not that you need it :) I hope you feel better and get on your feet again. Soon. Cheers!

I haven't been online much lately so I am late in offering my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
