My Kingdom For An Ace Bandage!

I pulled up some pictures of "Ace Bandages" on Google Images and showed them to two nephews (22 and 18) and it was like deer staring into headlights. Neither had ever seen these items that are ubiquitous in the US. I'm not even sure they sell them here.

You see, I don't have any way of preventing the re-swelling of my lower left leg whenever I stand on it. The blood engorgement is incredibly painful. Putting on an Ace bandage before standing or walking would prevent the swelling from getting worse each time. Once in a reclined position again, the bandage would be removed.

My son is going downtown to get a haircut today, accompanied by a cousin. While downtown, he is going to the largest drugstore there and checking to see if they have the bandages. If not, I'm SOL.

I don't really have a kingdom… I don't have any freakin' bandages either!

Update @ 2pm: My son was partially successful. He was able to get one (I wanted two). He'll be getting another tomorrow.

      I know that it is late, but I heard a great new bandage that is out. I hear that it is better then ACE and it comes in all kinds of cool colors. There are called Wrap It Bandages–my cousin said that he really liked it.

   And yes, those type of bandages. We call the crepe bandages. And they sell them in any pharmacy/medical shop here.

   I was going to respond and tell Dick, the first commenter in the thread, that Olongapo City is not like other cities in the Philippines. Some things are plentiful while others don't even exist, even if you expect them too. The largest drugstore in the city is serviced from a window outside and there was only one size, one brand of an elastic bandage. It wasn't Ace. 50 km away, in Papanga, you can find everything — but I can't drive with a leg like this.

    So how do you blog? Do you have a laptop, or a desktop computer? If you have a laptop I can see you sitting on the couch, leg up, blogging away. However, if you have a desktop…that could get interesting.

    You should take a picture of yourself blogging at your desktop with your leg up so we can see the sacrifices you're making for UV!!!

       I have a laptop next to the bed. I can't use it much like a laptop because of the heat that comes out the back.
