I want to experiment with a couple of ideas I've had bouncing around in my head for some time.

A lot of people, including myself, add icon images to "brand" their blog addresses as they appear in the browser favorites/bookmarks (and even in the address bar for some browsers). I want to display those images (with the associated links) when I write a post. It would probably be something I would tack onto the end, but I'll have to see the results to be sure.

Why would I want to do something like this? These become valid links back to your blogs! Search engines look at anchored images a little differently than anchored text and I'm curious if they'll help to improve your rankings or not.

Send me your images so I'll have something to play with. (Edit: I just thought of something. If I don't get a lot of response to this, I can always steal them. :-) )

Another idea is to advertise other blogs at the end of my articles feed. If you're subscribed to my feeds, you can see "© RT Cunningham - visit Untwisted Vortex for more great content." tacked onto the very end. I want to replace that with links to readers who subscribe to my feed.

I have to know who they are before I can do that, so if you're subscribed to my feed, pass me a note about it so I can add your link to my list. I plan to edit the links only once a week because I know the feed cache for previous articles can change when the servers resync the feeds.

It's not often that I'm touched by a person's drive to make the most out of life. I just visited Life With Heathens and read some of Jo's experiences and her continuing battle with cancer. I was tickled by her excitement over 2,045 visitors for the month of May. I think everyone who reads this should pay her blog a visit. Let's make that 2,045 look minuscule compared to the number of visits she can receive from us!
