My apologies to my non-American readers. This message is targeted at Ron Paul, a possible contender for President of the US in the 2008 election.

Ron PaulRon, your name has been used thousands of times now at the online social network sites as well as on hundreds of blogs. You stand for small government and have ideas that are contrary to current US policies. I hope Americans can pull together long enough to help you win both the primary and general elections. I know you're campaigning as a Republican but the Republicans don't seem to want you.

One issue that isn't addressed on the Ron Paul 2008 campaign website is your stance on America's dependence on foreign oil. I'll never forget the long lines at gasoline stations in the early seventies, as a result of the artificial shortage created by the OPEC oil cartel. Our President at the time made promises that were never kept. The US is more dependent on foreign oil now than it ever was. The Middle East oil cartel has the ability to cripple transportation in the US at anytime they choose to do so. This is a major threat to our sovereignty.

For more than 30 years, technology has been introduced and subsequently buried by those in the US that benefit from the continued use of oil as the primary fuel source for vehicles. There is a new type of automobile in the process of being marketed in another country, India, which is far superior to even the best electrically-powered cars available in the US. Americans need to produce a class of vehicles like this in order to substantially reduce dependence on foreign oil supplies. The Air Car

The automobile that I write of is the subject of an article at gizmag and more pictures of it can be seen at their image gallery. The only oil this vehicle uses is 1 liter of vegetable oil every 50,000 Km (which is about 31,068 miles).

If you want to win the election you need to continue to stand behind the issues you already present and add the removal of foreign oil dependence as one your primary goals. Alternatives will reduce the effects of fuel prices on our economy and prevent another instance of runaway inflation from occurring.

I keep reading how Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance with the Republican base that votes in the primary election. There's still some time between now and the primaries. I believe he stands a very good chance of winning in the primary election as long as he continues on his current track.
