Some of us bloggers who actually use Technorati for more than just searches have noticed that they no longer display the people who have made our blogs favorites. I thought it was a temporary glitch, but it must be intentional. At least two days have passed since I first noticed it.
Since I couldn't remember the URL they used for the "Fans", I pulled up the 100 Top Favorited Blogs, of which I'm number 92 right now, and clicked the link for "224 members have made this a Favorite". The page titled "Fans of Untwisted Vortex - Living in a Different Land" comes up, but no fans are listed at all.
A temporary glitch could cause data to be missing for a few hours. Only something intentional would last two or more days. Is it because of the Technorati Favorites Exchange that many bloggers participated in, including me? Are they attempting to kill it by not allowing us to check who our fans are? I don't know the answer because I can't find any notes on it anywhere.
As it stands right now, I can remove everyone from my own favorites list and no one on that list would know I wasn't favoriting them anymore. Did Technorati decide to defeat reciprocal favoriting in this way? You'd think they'd mention it if they had.
