When I do my drive-bys, I sometimes go back through the blogs I've driven by before. I've done that through my blogroll and through my feed reader. Of course, I've already been to these places many times and read a lot of articles, but I need to seek out and find fresh perspectives. Starting today and until I'm finished, I'm going through my neighborhoods at BlogCatalog. I'll be avoiding those blogs that I've driven by before or I won't be reading stuff that's new to me. Perhaps when I finish going through this source, I'll go through another social source, such as MyBlogLog, friends at StumbleUpon, friends at Digg, etc. What I really want to do is go through my blogroll and my feeds in between other sources. What I'll end up doing may be completely different. I never know what I'm going to do next. Before I run off at the fingers (instead of the mouth), let me get started with today's…
The last one on my feed reader at the moment, and I don't want to neglect it, is Maurizio's note about buying him a pizza at Nafurai. He patterned it after that evil John Chow guy's "buy me a beer" campaign. Maybe Maurizio doesn't like beer!
The first one in my neighborhood at BlogCatalog (it must be because it starts with a number) is a "sort of" review of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" over at 7Confessions. I never listen to critics because they're wrong more than they're right. Besides, I like this lady's opinions better! (I can't wait until this comes out on DVD!)
I laughed out loud at Gerri's post, "Do You Like Spam?", at Absolutely True. I don't know if my own article with the same title inspired her or not, but at least she has the same kind of thoughts about it that I do. She was smarter than me. She included the famous Monty Python spam video with her article. In fact, I watched it again for like the 1000th time.
Not a laughing matter, Gunawan wrote about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) at his Baby First Year Guide. Prospective parents and those parents with young babies should take a look at it.
If you believe in God, even just a tiny fraction of an amount, you'll be interested in what the writer of ClearlyEnlight.com had to say about the results of idolatry. It was a little bit longer than what I'm used to reading, but not too long.
How can you take something as mundane as cooking and turn it into a humorous event. I don't know because my cooking sucks! Anne of Cooking with Anne didn't seem to have a problem when she presented her cooking "hall of shame". She's not a loser, she's a wiener!
I may have been there before (CRS disease kicks in sometimes), but I looked at the pictures at Culture Shiok! for the "Swatch FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Women's Open at Sentosa" article. The sport doesn't thrill me enough to read about it, but those girls are cute!
I wasn't inspired, but I was amused by the pictures posted at Pandiyan's Email Collections blog. There's no need to worry about reading on this one, except for the words on the pictures themselves. You see what happens when you forward that funny picture to your friend? It eventually ends up there!
WhataBurger! DanTien wrote a little history about the WhataBurger chain of burger joints in Finding Enlightenment and Happiness in America's Diners, Roadhouses, Joints and Dives. The first time I ate at a WhataBurger in Phoenix, I ordered a double meat cheeseburger. That was a mistake. It was huge! I had to put it in a "doggy bag" and take it home to finish at a later time. The rest of the fast-food joints couldn't make a burger like that if they wanted to!
Robin at Fortune Watch wrote an informative article on how to watch market trends for those of us who've invested in stocks. I used "us" in that sentence, but I've never invested in stocks. If I ever do, this is the kind of stuff I want to read about.
Chenka posted some humorous advertising pictures at Funny Pictures And Extreme Pictures. I didn't venture any deeper than this today, but I think I'll be back later to see some more.
I'm not into video games, but I like good Asian music. The music video posted at gameshogun.ws is the Official Granado Espada Music Video and the music is good. I don't understand a single word of the lyrics but that's okay. There's American music I can't understand either.
