Best Days for a Digg or a Stumble or Whatever

If you're like me and you watch your blog's traffic patterns, you can't help but notice that traffic slows down on the weekend. It's only natural to assume that a lot of people don't get on the Internet to read blogs on the weekend. The trend that I see is that traffic slows from Friday night through Sunday morning.

This brings me to the title of this article. Any day is a good day for a digg, a stumble, a submission to Netscape, Reddit, etc. but… what about that weekend traffic? You can offset that slowing down of traffic by getting your blog dugg or stumbled or whatever on Friday night, Saturday morning or Saturday night. Not only will your traffic numbers increase, but you should bring in visitors who only get on during the weekends.

Yes, Virginia, there are people who get on the Internet only on weekends. Some of these people, and I know some like this, don't have the luxury of web surfing during normal work days. Some of them hold down more than one job to make ends meet. This is the missing traffic that everyone seems to be looking for. My theory is that if you can hook them on the weekend, they may return on week days as well.

It can't hurt. Give it a try and if you feel so inclined, let me know the results. You may want to watch your traffic patterns for about a month just to be sure.

I stumbled and dugg your post. I was told by cymrusteve that you are willing to reciprocate on diggs and stumbles. If so, here is my today's post to check out. If you think it worthy, a digg or a stumble would be much appreciated! Thanks

oh and by the way I use the Tiga theme too. I LOVE what you've done with it!! Nice job!

I should have answered this, but I think I answered it elsewhere. Most of the rework is from the Tigopedia author. I changed a lot of things, incorpating stuff from the original Tiga back in as well as tweaking stuff. Some custom CSS, some good plugins, and it rocks.
