I have been remiss about doing my drive-bys for a few days. What with my wife heading out on May 20th, and not being able to be with her for 6 months to a year (more likely a year), I've had to devote more time to family matters. I'm afraid I won't have much free time until after she's gone. For the regular readers who don't see my picture on their little widgets or any comments from me, I assure you that I still read your writings via my feed reader.

Jimi at JMH Techtronics posted a short note on his fascination with the universe. He followed it up with his article on a supernova. I'll always be fascinated by "the final frontier" even though I know I'll never get there from here.

Here's an article that's right up my alley. Jon at jon lee dot see eh (obviously Canadian) wrote an article on the triple equals in PHP. I finally understand what the "===" is actually used for. It all makes sense now (not that I really tried to make sense of it before).

Always curious as to what my Filipino wife thinks of me as a westerner, I stumbled onto Joy's little post on Joy Montessori. The difference, I think, between her and my wife is that Filipinos are used to seeing Filipinas marry westerners. The ties between the Philippines and the US go back a long, long way.

I stopped by Shanti Marie's painting blog at A painting a Week to admire the paintings. I think they all look great, even the ones that are works in progress. I wish I'd been born with even a fraction of this talent because I have no artistic qualities at all. I can only appreciate those who do.

I spotted another webcomic at Eleanorblog. Since I like webcomics probably more than I should, I decided to follow the link to the WAREHOUSE to see more. Is it me or does anyone else think the characters look like a bunch of talking penises? Anyway, since Alison lives in Scotland and publishes castle photos just like Chris at Autofocused, I'm adding her blog to my blogroll and my feed reader!

Monawea at iwebis posted information about her mass buzz experiment with BlogCatalog which will take place on the 14th. I plan to participate with my post on that day. I'm 12 hours ahead of US East coast, so I'm going to be a step ahead of the US-based blogs in getting my post out there as one of the first (just after midnight my time). It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Holy forgetfulness, Batman! I didn't realize it was going to be Mother's Day this Sunday until I saw Jen's post at so you wannabee a Domestik Goddess?. I normally do something special for the wife (the mother of my children) on Mother's Day. I don't have a clue what I'm going to do this year. I need more time to think about it!

I spotted another article on Reaper-X .:[ ID ] that talks about posting less frequently than daily and getting better results. Getting more comments anyway. There's some truth to it, but it will always be a matter of what the target audience wants. I post as frequently as I have a mind to, not on some set schedule. I think everyone should do the same, but at least maintain a regular interval. Two months does NOT qualify as a regular interval!

I always read the jokes and funny stuff (and watch the videos) that Sandee puts up on Comedy Plus. My days would not be complete without letting out a huge guffaw. When I guffaw, I scare my neighbors!

I'm always flattered when someone takes a method or idea of mine and runs with it, especially if they mention me in the process. The young lady at Tiny Signs is attempting to use the "give a lot and get a little" idea to help people boost their Technorati rankings. What she doesn't know yet is that it will boost more than just Technorati rankings. She'll have to watch ALL of her stats to see exactly what I mean.

Natron posted an article about page titles and file names at Natron Drach. Basically, he's telling us to be more descriptive in our titles and file names, something I've been trying to do for a long time. I really should stop by his blog more often and save myself the trouble of looking for this kind of information in other places. I could probably trim at least an hour a day off my searches.

Matthew over at eJabs is planning to steal my thunder. Read his post and then look at my top posts. He's a got a meme in store for us that he thinks will rock my socks, but I told him to go suck on cow teats if the meme isn't good. Regardless, he can have all the thunder he wants, I'll make more!

Holy Orville Redenbacher! Maybe she's Just Not Martha, but I want to live in her house! She only listed five things her pantry needs to have in it. I don't have a pantry, but I have a lot of cabinet space. Tea, saltines, peanut butter, cinnamon and popcorn are must haves anywhere I'm living. I drink at least three mugs full of iced tea every day and I eat peanut butter sandwiches as snacks between meals (when I rarely get hungry like that). I am a saltine fiend when I can stock up on them. I like cinnamon toast and one can never get enough popcorn!
