A few days ago, I stumbled across a page about a beta program from Google called AdSense for Feeds. I decided to go back and read it again today. They're not taking any new beta testers and they tell us to check back later, but I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes available within a month or two.
For those of us who monetize our blogs, this could be another source of revenue. For those of you who don't like the ads to be in the way, Google wrote a best practices article that explains how to use them without being annoying.
In a nutshell, you do the following:
- Enable full feeds.
- Use only 1 ad unit per article.
- Put the ad after the article.
- Include feed terms and conditions on your blog.
It's pretty simple. If you use those best practices, no one will be annoyed by the ads and you may get a click or two. If you decide to do your own thing, you'll probably lose feed subscribers faster than I can say "Google this, buddy."
(Update 2007-12-06: I didn't notice before, because this is the first time I've looked in months, but Google AdSense for Feeds is available through FeedBurner. It makes sense, since Google now owns FeedBurner, along with other companies like YouTube.)

Speaking of feeds… do you like what I write but you can't seem to find the time to come back and read the stuff I write? Subscribe to a feed and save yourself the trip. There are links in at least two different places if you want to do it that way. If you use Google Reader, well, you should already know how to add it. I put a button on the toolbar so it's a one click deal when I'm on a blog that I suddenly like.

Blog Appreciation:
I just recently added Made to Be Great to my blogroll because I like to read about inner potential. He won me over in an instant with the link to Happy Slip. That's one funny and crazy lady.
