I always go to sleep late in the morning. This time it was at about 5 am. I was awake again by 10 am. What did I discover when I awoke? My web server had been down for 15 minutes. I waited. It was normal for MY web server to be unreachable for 15-30 minutes at a time.

At 11:00 am, I put myself in their supposed 24/7 customer support queue and waited. After about 20 minutes, I was the only one left in the queue. It sat that way for 40 minutes. At noon, I ordered new web hosting with another company.

At 1 pm, I went to the bank to pay for the hosting. I got back at 2:30. My web server came on line at about 3 pm. I started typing this about 5 minutes ago.

I know I mentioned that I was holding off until May to switch hosting services. I wanted the hosting to pay for itself through my ads and I won't get the first check until the beginning of May. These idiots left me no choice.

My web server was down for over 5 hours and the company has not explained it anywhere. The last time it happened, it was because they let the database server fill up until it crashed. Two times within two months is unacceptable. Never mind the fact that my web server is unreachable for 4 or 5 times a day and for 15 to 30 minutes each time. Never mind that fact that when it is online, it's serving pages slower than molasses.

I have to wait on the new hosting service to get me setup and then I'll be transferring everything. In a few days, I'm sure you'll be able to tell the difference.

Dotster is the name of the current service. Never use Dotster — no matter what kind of deals or promises they advertise.
