WordPress Move Comments Plugin

After seeing two different commentators comment under the wrong article within a span of 2 days, I went searching for a plugin that would allow me to move them to the right one. It didn't take long for me to find the Move Comments Plugin at "zirona — Open-Source Consulting".

For me, since my blog is at the top level of the domain and not in a subdirectory like "blog" or "wp", it went in and worked like a champ the first time. The path in admin.php, line 28, needs to have "/blog" or "/wp" prepended to it otherwise (or whatever subdirectory you use). The plugin isn't difficult to install and it isn't difficult to use, but it can be daunting because it lists every post and every comment.

If you have people commenting on the wrong post, check it out and see if this plugin will work for you. The alternatives are to either muck around with your database or to manually move each comment (cut and paste, retype, whatever).

Man, WordPress is full of cool things to do when you start tweaking.

You know, I created my theme entirely from scratch and that's very satisfying.

Also, on an unrelated note, your blog is definitely very slow to load. I think it's all the other tidbits you've added from third party site that is doing it.

    Another good tip RT.

It is a little slow today, I dumped The Good Blogs from mine as it was killing their load times.

I just removed it myself, Chris. It was stuck trying to load GoodBlogs. In fact, I'm going to be removing some 3rd Party Javascripts soon. I have to weigh benefits.
