I received an email from Matthew Jabs of eJabs just under two hours ago because he had suddenly found out that his site had over 5,000 hits in a short amount of time and didn't know where they were coming from. About 30 minutes later, he got a message from his hosting provider that his site was using too many CPU resources. Another 45 minutes later, I went to check his website and behold:
I went back a few minutes later and his site was back to normal. He had been communicating with his web hosting provider, and they apparently helped him rectify the situation.
That's the problem with your site getting too popular too fast. I hope I don't get hit like that. I'm not even in the same country as my provider!
