This is Wil Wheaton!

You remember Wil Wheaton, don't you? C'mon… you know, from Stand by Me (1986) and Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987-1994)? Well, he's a dedicated blogger like the rest of us. He's also a geek like me who reads stuff on Digg.

His blog is WWdN: In Exile - Wil Wheaton's not-so-temporary blog. and he's as human as anyone.

Do you remember the post I made called Why Getting to the Front Page of Digg Isn't Important to Me? Well, it can't even begin to compare to what he said with what happened to digg?

Hmmm… he may be 12 years younger than I, but I think he's a whole lot smarter.

   There's a reason why Wil's site remains in my blogroll (well, the original site - I still have hope). As long as he's not writing about poker, I find his thoughts refreshing and the comments on them as well (except for the OMG! Wil! You're my hero! ones, which he is tired of as well). I don't always agree with everything that he says (as I don't agree with everything that you say, and am sure that you feel the same way about some of the things that I write), but I certainly respect his position on them. At the least, it will open up a debate of sorts.

   He's also quite a *nix freak as well, which is always a bonus (aside, did you know that Ken Thompson's son's name is Corey?)

   That would be the great Ken Thompson who, along with Dennis Ritchie, built and coded the foundation for what is UNIX today. The internet, banking, etc. as we know it would be less likely without their input. Who knows if Linux and *BSD would have come about without their "seed".

   I thought that was the Ken Thompson you were talking about, but I wasn't sure. As for the text/hyperlink colors… I'll fix that myself.

   That's a lot clearer. I do like this theme, BTW. I downloaded it to play with on my sandbox, but its not looking the same. I can see that you've tweaked it quite a bit. I think that there's a design change in the future for my site as well, but I don't know what yet. Back to basics, I think. I found out about Ken and his son, Corey soon after I got the domain name. He contacted me to let me know we had the same name. Kinda cool, I guess.

   So, about Wil. Good egg, he. And its a smaller world than you think. He and a blogging friend hung out, so to speak. I'll let him reveal himself to you (hint: he writes songs). He does post comments on your site from time to time.

    Yes, I sleep, but only for 2-4 hours at a time, sometimes twice a day. Try it when you retire.
