The same reasons that apply to Digg also apply to Reddit, FARK, Slashdot and other social news aggregrators I've failed to mention, regardless if they have a "front page" or not.

  • It's a game and I hate playing games.
  • Blogs rarely make it to the front page.
  • Blog URLs often get banned as spam. The regular users hate blogs.
  • Users don't like submissions from website owners.
  • If a post doesn't appear professional enough, it'll get banned just for fun.
  • The average user is between the ages of 12 and 24 and their comments show it.

The only thing I really like about these services is their search capabilities. People who need to know something that I have to share will find it by searching, not from the front page.
