My Theme is Partly Broken

Since my upgrade to Wordpress 2.1 earlier today, parts of the theme do not work correctly. Specifically, all the "Blogroll" links are giving me an error. I'm in the process of trying to isolate the problem.

Update: It's broke, I can't fix it myself, and if I can't get in touch with the theme author, I'll have to replace the theme. What a pain!

   Your blogroll can be rediscovered, I bet. I found the same thing happened to me (been running 2.1 since alpha3, or was it 2), but its fixable. If I remember (have to look again at the code), its because the categories have been merged. I'll try to email you the solution (I think that mousing over the categories in your admin panel will give you the numeric category ID).

   Judging by the Wordpress support issues online, I'm not the only one with problems with this theme. I'm going to have to wait and see if a support question is answered before I do anything drastic.

   I created a temporary fix. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this completely.

   After looking at my theme, I see that I used the get_links_list function to present my blogroll before. My solution was to use the get_links function. Its reasonably well documented in the Codex here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_links

   This is actually more powerful, as you can display links in a category where you want.

   Yes, it works, but the problem is the way it was written in the theme. I made a kludge until I figure out how to finish altering it with CSS. I'm only keeping this theme until I can find a suitable replacement.

   My upgrade went well.
   Just one plugin wasn't compatible and it was my Favico for my blogroll. I dropped the plug in and just put the default get links tag in.

   I don't use many plugins. Anyway… I fixed it using some new CSS and using the built-in function of wp_list_bookmarks() to replace the theme code. It was a pain in the ass, but it works. Now you can see the links to the left and it doesn't look any different than it did before. Correction. It's slightly different with Internet Explorer and I can't figure out why.

    I'm not seeing a difference between FF and IE.
    I'm using testing with IE7

    It's very minor, not really noticeable, so I didn't bother to correct it. If you look at with Firefox, the titles are aligned to the left as you would expect. With IE7, they're either centered or moved over a few spaces.

    You probably wouldn't see it unless you were looking for it.
