Did you know that the word porridge as used in the children's story, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", is referring to something like oatmeal? I didn't until today when I looked it up:

porridge:
n. a food made of oatmeal, or some other meal or cereal, boiled to a thick consistency in water or milk.

That reminds me of the nursery rhyme, "Peas Porridge Hot":

Peas porridge hot,
Peas porridge cold,
Peas porridge in the pot
Nine days old.
Some like it hot,
Some like it cold,
Some like it in the pot
Nine days old.
