That's what I call American television between Thanksgiving Day and New Year's Day. Repeats are aired in place of first run episodes of prime time series. Holiday specials preempt regular programming. Old movies are played.
It wouldn't be so bad if the holiday airings were something new. I mean, how many times can someone stomach watching Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964), A Christmas Story (1983), and It's a Wonderful Life (1946)? And those are just the tip of iceberg.
It's bad enough when my favorite shows get preempted by sports specials. It's HORRIBLE when they get preempted by this kind of stuff.
The only thing good that comes out of all of it is that I end up watching movies on DVD more often. I probably have more than a hundred DVDs that I haven't even watched yet.
I mention this now because I'm still waiting for new episodes to appear. The holidays are over!
Side Note:
You may be asking yourself how I can watch American television here in the Philippines. Well, the more astute readers will already know. The rest of you will have to figure it out for yourselves.
