Today I was asked if I would like to teach English at the Global City College on SBMA to a group of Korean students. The students are attending this college for the sole purpose of learning English.

You see, the teacher that is teaching the class now is a Filipina and English is her second language. She teaches the English which is taught to Filipinos whereas the Koreans want to learn how to read, write, and speak American English. It requires someone who speaks American English as their primary language.

I'm thinking about it. I know they can't pay me very much (and I really just need to offset the transportation and clothing expenses), but I'm not really doing anything important at home. It's not like I have a job or anything. This wouldn't be the first time I've taught anything to students — I taught a six-week course to about 20 students while I was in the military.

There are some real concerns I have to address before I can make any decisions. I have questions that the college will have to answer. I have some personal issues that may require me to wait until the next semester. Everything has to be resolved before I can make any kind of commitment, if I choose to teach.
