Today is my 46th birthday. More appropriately, it will be at 3:26 pm this afternoon, local time. I was born in Arizona and the time zone there is 15 hours behind the time zone here.

I thank God that I'm able to be here today. Statistically, I should be dead already. Not because of my age but because of the accidents and armed conflicts I've been involved in as well as other circumstances of my life.

I haven't yet heard from my parents, siblings, or my older son in Germany. Of course, it's still the 27th everywhere they are (except Germany I think). I should be receiving email later this evening and some IM notices. If not… oh well, it's just another day to me. I don't know why anyone makes a big deal out of birthdays less than 100. If I live to be that old, it'll be a miracle.
