Something odd happened from yesterday morning to this morning:

Everything was happening as normal. I was at my PC, reading, writing and doing other Internet-related activities. All of a sudden, I had no signal from my DSL router. I checked all the connections, did a reset, still no go. I then hooked up a telephone and checked for a dial tone. Yep, that was it. I had no dial tone. I waited for two hours and had my wife call the telephone company. They rang my line and said it was ringing on their end and it rang on my end. She even picked up the phone and talked briefly. When she hung up, however, there was still no dial tone. She told the company representative this and the representative said that a work request would have to be done.

This morning, almost exactly 24 hours later, my dial tone came back. I only know it because I had the DSL router turned on and I was sitting at the PC when I saw the activity light come on and stay on.

The weirdest part about all this is that my mother-in-law had a dial tone on her phone next door the entire time.

If anyone reading this has any idea what happened, I would appreciate if you'd let me know so that I can do something about it.
