I read the news daily but I rarely comment on it. Most news gets repeated and repeated until I get sick of it. Recent news that yet another celebrity has come out of the closet and stated that he was gay simply forces me to speak my mind.
I've heard gays over the years complain that they are the same as everyone else and blah, blah, blah… Well, you don't hear heterosexual male or female celebrities announcing that they're straight, do you?
Listen. I don't care if you're straight, gay, a beast lover or whatever. Do me a favor and keep your sexual preferences to yourself, would you? I would much rather you concentrate on the reason for your celebrity status in the first place.
Do actors and actresses, singers and other entertainers really believe that announcing their sexual preferences is not going to have an effect on their fans? I stopped buying Elton John music when he made his announcement. Now I'll be steering away from movies and television series that feature Neil Patrick Harris. Not because he's gay, but because he made it a point to tell us about it.
