Fred Langa maintains a collection of links on the readers sites pages at Langa.com. I recently went through each page and copied the information to a text file. When the Langa Blog introduced "Flogging the Blog", I started collecting the information from those links as well.

I'm in the process of going through each URL, one by one. I'm deleting those URL's from the text file where the pages no longer exist or it's obvious that the pages have been abandoned. I'm also updating the URL's for those websites that have redirects in place or mention where their websites moved to.

As soon as I finish a script that I've been working on, I'll start publishing the good URL's. I'll probably announce the URL's here on the blog and then maintain a link directory elsewhere. If I can find a better script than mine, I'll use it instead but so far I haven't found one that works the way I want it to.

(Update 2006-11-02: I'm not going to do the link directory right now. I want to finish writing one that works the way I want, requires no database, and is easy to maintain. Until it's done, I'll just publish the links in daily posts. Unlike other entities, however, I will go back and get rid of dead links on a regular basis.

(Update 2007-11-02: The Langa blog hasn't been updated since November, 2006. There's no use going there.)
