Because I haven't received a LangaList newsletter since June 22, I didn't know I was getting a lot of traffic until I pulled up this website. I'm a subscriber to the free edition. Apparently, the plus edition subscribers have received a new edition.
Ever heard of the "Slashdot Effect" or the "Digg Effect" where the sheer number and speed of the visits brings a website server to it's knees? Well, I don't think I'll get that kind of traffic from the "LangaList Effect" but the numbers are amazing considering the free edition (which has many more subscribers than the non-free plus edition) hasn't been received yet.
I'm working on a PHP link directory where I'll be adding the websites for the people who've "loaded the code". Once I'm done with the script, I'll be working from the current issue back to the beginning of the year. Then I'll have go through the reader sites from langa.com to get the rest. I won't be adding any that have removed the banner code since they were added to a particular newsletter. The script will take a little while because I'm involved in some other things.
Bookmark this post. When I'm done with the directory, I'll probably need some help getting the URL's into the right categories.
(Update 2007-11-02: The Langa blog hasn't been updated since November, 2006. There's no use going there.)
