If you consider that the parents of my nephew didn't know how to spell "Ralph" when the birth certificate was filled out, and you consider that Ralp is only a year old today, you would probably realize why I think the money they're spending on his birthday party tonight is more for them than for him.
They rented a videoke machine, a performing clown, and they made tons of food. They invited more than a hundred people from both sides of their family. There will be eating, singing, drinking, and much carrying-on.
Regardless of what my wife and son do, I'll be spending most of my time avoiding the people and the noise. That is, unless my wife drags me out there. Of course, she volunteered our driveway (which we haven't even used yet since the house isn't done) for the videoke and dancing area.
