Our fence gate is installed. It finishes blocking off the front of the house and is in front of the driveway. The gate itself sticks out a little into the easement of the road, but the wife thinks the city will complain. The distance between the gate and the other side of the road is much wider than the width of the road anywhere else that it's paved, so I don't think she needs to worry. Besides, our property is curved at the front and not straight like it shows in the assessment layout — which means that the gate is on our property, even though it looks like it sticks out into the easement.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but I won't be taking pictures of anything until everything's done with the house and the front fence.
