I've spent the last couple of weekends trying to learn how to fast, both for health and for religious reasons (not really religious, but I don't know how else to explain it). I managed to abstain from food for 24 hours, but found it difficult not to drink water. I ended up drinking fluids each time because of dehydration. I'm still not used to the humidity here. I came from Arizona, USA, where humidity is virtually nonexistent. The Philippines always has high humidity.

Before I attempted to fast, I studied the health benefits of doing so. There's a lot of information available. I may or may not experience any effects from it in the future, but so far no ill effects. I didn't even get hungry.

If you want to try it out, I recommend reading about it first. It's not for everyone and definitely not recommended for people with heath problems that may be exacerbated by fasting.
